OTHER
Sustainable development is a critical issue for Thailand, focusing on environmental, economic, and social sustainability. Building design and construction directly affect energy demand. This includes energy used from extracting raw materials to manufacture building materials, transportation, material manufacturing, construction processes, and building operations. Power generation for buildings relies heavily on fossil fuels, releasing carbon dioxide and other gases into the atmosphere. These gases trap solar radiation and heat radiating from the Earth, preventing them from reflecting back out and causing heat accumulation that raises air temperatures. Furthermore, building construction can disrupt local ecosystems, generate water demand, and potentially impact the health of building occupants and construction workers.
